EVANGELISTS & PASTORS
God has laid a burden on my heart to pray and intercede for Pastors and Evangelists. The Pastor is undeniably burdened for the saints and families that are in need within the Body of Christ. They nurture, cultivate and mature saints and families to fulfill their destinies.
The Evangelist is burdened with a passion to reach the lost and bring them to a place where they can experience the joys of the Kingdom. They nurture, cultivate, and mature saints and families to become beacons of light to lead others into the Kingdom.
WHERE IS GOD’S HARVEST?
In a dream I had early this morning (12/12/2017) I was invited by a pastor to come preach at his Congregation. As we were approaching the Church, I said to them, “let’s go to the Bridge instead, we will minister there.” The Pastors looked at me with hesitation, but proceeded to drive to the Bridge. Once we got to the Bridge, I said: “let’s go through the Bridge”. Then we walked through. It was a rather long bridge until we reached halfway and began to see thousands of people standing still in the middle of the Bridge. I said to them, “this is where we will minister”. I began to prophesy to people in the crowd and as time went by, suddenly I looked in the direction from where we had come and I saw thousands from the crowd had moved to that side and had started to walk towards the other end of the bridge.
I woke up, and as I prayed about the dream, the Lord began to speak to me:
Tell my shepherds, the waiting season is over, don’t wait for a harvest, it’s time to go where the harvest is. There is a multitude waiting, they have already started their journey, but there is no one meeting them there to lead them through the rest of the journey. It’s time for my Evangelists to partner with my Shepherds, co-labor together to bring in a harvest that has been delayed. I am pouring out a fresh grace for co-laboring in this season. I will partner evangelistic-pastoral teams to break the delay in my harvesting season.
IDENTIFYING ONE OF THE #1 PASTORAL PITFALLS
As I kept praying and meditating on what God had spoken to me, I realized that Pastors have some pitfalls that they can fall into. One of the primary pitfalls is waiting for more people to show up at their Church. One of the reasons they settle into waiting is because they are occupied by the needs of saints and families. They don’t want to neglect their duty to care for them, but in reality, it stunts the growth of their sheep and their local Ecclesia from bringing transformation to their Community. Unless they intentionally allow the evangelistic anointing to flow through them (and better yet, find the evangelists within their flock) they will stay there waiting forever.
Romans 10:14 says “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”
Joel 3:14 says “Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.”
I’M EXPANDING YOUR INFLUENTIAL FOOTPRINT
One key area I believe God will pour out His grace and anointing in 2018 is an expansion of local Ecclesias to increase their influential footprint in their cities. An important ingredient to the release of this is the partnering of 5-fold ministers. While the Apostle and Teacher carry a mandate to build and lay the foundation, they need something they can work with, which God has placed a grace over the Pastor and Evangelist to bring in. A key ingredient will be the prophetic anointing that will fall on the Evangelist and the Pastor to effectively find where the delays are so that they can prosper in harvesting in this next season of bringing multitudes into the Kingdom.
Ezra 6:14-15 “And the elders of the Jews built and prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They finished their building by decree of the God of Israel and by decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia; and this house was finished on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.”
The Prophesying of the Prophets brings key openings in the heavens where the Evangelist and Pastor will be able to find favor in communities to break them open to the Kingdom of God.
WHAT TO DO?
I believe in the power of intentionality. No one has ever completed a task without settling into their heart and mind that work will need to get done. The work ahead will be that of partnering.
If you are a Pastor: Identify the Evangelists and Empower them. Co-labor to expand their Evangelistic Footprint in their local Ecclesia by allowing their anointing to equip and train saints. No one is able to authorize a greater measure of equipping and training in a local Ecclesia than a Senior Pastor of a Church.
If you are an Evangelist: Identify the Pastors and Empower them, Co-labor to expand their Pastoral Footprint in their local community by allowing their pastoral anointing to pastor their city. No one is as well networked and involved in their local city as an Evangelist.
If you are a Prophet: Identify the Pastors and Evangelists, begin to co-labor and prophesy their success and the season of prosperous harvest ahead!
